There has been widespread outrage and condemnation in the UK of banner which was displayed from a bridge across the M6 motorway which read “White Lives Matter”.#
Highways England have since confirmed they are in the process of removing the banner after a number of motorists contacted them demanding its removal.
Last month in a similar incident a banner with the same message was flown over Ethihad Stadium during a football match just as players were engaging in a symbolic protest in support of Black Lives Matter rallies.
This incident was similarly met with furious condemnation both from football clubs and voices in the media with the man responsible for the stunt loosing his job and even his girlfriend, who was uninvolved, being fired from her own job as well.
There were calls for a police investigation but authorities confirmed that displaying the phrase “White Lives Matter” is not yet a criminal offence.
