State of emergency declared in Florida as Hurricane Dorian approaches




A state of emergency has been declared in Florida, United States, as Hurricane Dorian approaches.

The weather system is currently cataloged as Category 1 hurricane, but it’s likely to evolve into a Category 3 over the next 24 hours. Dorian is expected to make landfall either in Florida or South Carolina by Sunday.

A Category 3 weather event means risk to life and property due to wind speeds of up to 180km/h.
