Strike action amongst 10,000 support staff at the country’s hospitals and health care facilities scheduled for this Wednesday, will go ahead as planned.
According to RTÉ News, the scheduled strike action will go ahead as planned after SIPTU representatives and the HSE failed to reach an agreement at the Workplace Relations Commission this afternoon.
Although it was hoped that Wednesday’s strike action would be called, representatives say it will go ahead as there was no agreement in terms of the introduction of job evaluation scheme.
It is not yet known how the strike will effect hospital’s across the country, but it is expected that a number of appointments and services may be cancelled.
