The newly appointed Minister for Health, Leo Varadkar, is starting his tenure by introducing a ban om sunbeds for under 18’s from Monday.
Shows like ‘The only way is Essex’, ‘Made in Chelsea’ and ‘Geordie Shore’ have seen a massive increase in teenagers using the U.V. machines.
Around 150 died from skin related diseases last year. A fear that a direct connection between U.V. rays used on these machines could cause significant problems.
There is further talk that a full ban for everyone will be introduced in the coming years. Anyone found supplying under 18’s will face a fan of €4000.
