The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that Level 5 restrictions will continue into February.
Speaking about the possibility of restrictions being eased, the Taoiseach said there is currently no talk of easing restrictions and I think we are looking at a continuation into February.
He added that you can expect that we will take stock of the situation every four weeks.
The news comes as 2,371 cases and a further 53 Covid-19 related deaths were confirmed on Friday.
