People have been left disgusted at the reaction on social media platforms to the tragic fire that destroyed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
The destruction of the 900-year-old wonder was mocked and derided as “karma” by some Twitter users for France’s colonial history. While a US baser publication called “The Jewish Worker” referenced the alleged “anti-Semitic” artwork on the façade of the church and claimed much of the morning for the cathedral was motivated by “white supremacy”.
An Australian Imam, Mohamad Tawhidi, also took to Facebook to express his dismay that so many Muslims were expressing happiness and writing comments approving that the Cathedral was being destroyed by fire on social media.
Other Muslims on social media posted comments on the fire that it was somehow retribution from Allah for the mocking Islam, which is already forbidden by law in most West Europe countries.
