Teresa Mannion achieved international notoriety with a rather impassionate weather report produced amidst gale conditions in Salthill, Galway, just before Christmas 2015.
The clip went viral, turning Mannion into an overnight sensation across the globe. The video was shown on CNN, ABC, Good Morning Australia and The Ellen Show, among many other media outlets.
And now, she has been chosen to become to face of a brand new road safety campaign.
Speaking about her new role, Teresa said “What I really love about the whole response to it is that there is an important safety message at the heart,”
“The mantra is ‘don’t make unnecessary journeys and don’t take risks on treacherous roads’, and it’s a really important safety message, so much so, that the Road Safety Authority have asked me to record ads for them, for radio and online.
“They want me to be a road safety ambassador because they saw the value in it, so I was delighted about that.”
