
The price of purchasing a home in Dublin has climbed to €500,000, figures from the Central Statistics Office show.
Across the country, residential property prices increased by 7% over the past year, reports RTE.
This represents a modest slowdown compared with 2024, when house prices climbed by 8.7%.
Home values are now 178.8% higher than their lowest point in early 2013, which followed the financial crash, reports RTE.
Property prices currently stand 25% above the previous peak recorded during the height of the property boom in April 2007.
On a national level, the median cost of buying a home reached €387,000 last year, reports RTE.
Within Dublin, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown was identified as the priciest area, with a median price of €680,000.
The most affordable parts of the capital were Fingal and Dublin City, where the median price in both areas was €475,000, reports RTE.
Beyond Dublin, Wicklow ranked as the most expensive county, with homes costing €454,000, followed by Kildare at €440,000.
Donegal recorded the lowest prices in the country, with a median of €195,000, reports RTE.
In 2024, property prices in Dublin increased by 5.6%, while prices outside the capital rose by 8.1% compared with the previous year, reports RTE.
