The HSE is claiming 250 people an hour are queueing up to get tested

The HSE is claiming that some 250 an hour are queueing up to get tested for covid.

Some centres are seeing as many as 1,500 people a day queueing up to get a PCR test to see whether they’ve covid or not. Many people say that they’re having to wait two to four days to get tested with some saying that they’ve waited up to a week.

Testing labs around the country say that they’re busier than ever with some 3,500 to 4,000 tests being processed a day compared to 1,500 to 2,000 during the summer.

It’s understood that labs are running from 6:30am to 7pm every day of the week with a turnaround of 24 hours.

Many people on social media claim that “covid would cease if people just stopped going to get tested”.
