They’re back! Warning issued as seagulls intensify their attacks with “dive bombing” to steal food

Diners at a café outside Cardiff Central railway station have been warned to be on the lookout for aggressive seagulls who have taken to “dive-bombing” their tables and stealing food off their plates.

According to the Metro, the café in question has even put up a sign, asking diners to hold onto their food while eating outside so the seagulls can’t take it. They’ve even gone so far as to remind them that they won’t be giving any refunds if the food is stolen and the sign from the café also says that “the seagulls don’t work for us”.

This is not the first time that people have been made aware of the risk of seagulls stealing food as there have been many reports of the gulls swooping down to grab sandwiches and other food from people walking along the street or sitting at an outdoor café.

In the case of the Cardiff Central railway station, Transport for Wales have ordered the sign to be removed, stating instead that the café must make sure that everyone is aware of the dangers of seagulls, even those who dine at the café but can’t read the sign as they don’t speak English.
