A 14-yr-old schoolgirl has tragically died after being accidentally electrocuted when she dropped her mobile phone into the bath while charging it.
The astonishingly rare incident happened when Yulia Vysotskaya suffered an electric shock and drowned in her bath in a home in Cheboksary, Russia.
It’s understood that her parents called for an ambulance but that she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. It’s the third such incident of its kind in the country in the past 12 months, despite numerous warnings from government officials who are now calling the act a form of Russian Roulette.
In December, a martial arts champion Irena Rybnikova, 15 years old, died instantly when she was using her iPhone plugged into a charger whilst using the bath in her home in Siberia.
Another 12-yr-old girl passed away when she’s was listening to music on her phone in the bath and charging it in a house at the same time.
Parents have been advised to share this with their friends and family to raise awareness.
