Two United Airlines pilots removed from aircraft shortly before departure after suspicious were raised that they were intoxicated

Flight UA162, departing from Glasgow and bound for Newark, had to be canceled after the flight crew was removed from the plane due to a suspected drink issue.

The men, aged 61 and 45, were arrested at the scene and will appear in court in the near future.

All passengers were disembarked and re-booked into a different flight.

The pilots involved in this incident may face significant jail time if they are found guilty of being under the influence in an aircraft’s cockpit.
