The Russian army has, yet again, suffered catastrophic losses while trying to encircle the heavily fortified town of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.
According to reports, hapless Russian officers continue using suicidal frontal assaults, launching wave after wave of bodies, and columns of vehicles advancing in orderly single file, against an entrenched and well-motivated Ukrainian army.
Operating from vantage positions, Ukrainian machine gunners deploy murderous fire to cut down the human mass in front of them, while artillery and anti-tank crews target vehicles in the kill zone. Ukrainian sources say that no fewer than 85 Russian vehicles were destroyed in a 48h period, along with their crews.
Avdiivka is of significant strategic importance, particularly a high ground area near an industrial complex, as dominance of this spot enables fire control over the surrounding territory.
