Up to 40 people have been injured, two of them seriously, after the floor of the Butterfly Disco club at Playa de Las Americas in Tenerife gave way earlier today.
The incident happened in the early hours of this morning. The club was packed with revellers at the time.
It is understood the floor suddenly split open and people just fell through to the basement below.
The identities and nationalities of the injured remains unclear, but the club is popular with foreigners so British and Irish citizens may be among those affected.
