The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that the Government’s plan is to have at least 70% of the population fully vaccinated by the end of July.
Speaking about the vaccine roll-out, the Taoiseach said that the Government’s plan is inline with the European Union’s and it will all depend on vaccine supply.
Although Martin admitted that there has been some issues surrounding supplies in recent weeks, he did say the situation will improve in the last two weeks of June as supplies are set increase from both AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
He added that the Government remains cautious especially over the Delta (Indian variant) as cases are rising in the UK.
Tje Taoiseach said that the Government as well as health authorities will continue to monitor the situation, bit for now the number of cases of the variant here remains stable.
