Social media users across the globe have been truly amazed in recent days after a Maine police officer captured this fantastic footage showing a meteor lighting up the skies above the U.S. state.
The rare phenomenon was spotted throughout most of northern America with the vast majority of New England, and Canada seeing the light show.
A post on the police department’s Facebook page said: “You never know what you are going to see on duty.
The amazed police officer Sergeant Farris told reporters he was looking for speeders whilst parked in front of the central fire station and was able to observe some visitors ‘from away’….far away.
The officer added: “The meteor (or alien spaceship) was caught on camera at approximately 0050 hours. Let’s hope the visitors are friendly.”
