Northern Irish born actree Jackie Woodburne who plays Susan Kennedy in the Aussie soap Neighbours has said that the cast is completely heartbroken that the show looks likely to be axed.
Earlier this week, Channel 5 in the UK said that it will no longer be airing the show from June, effectively ending the show as they basically bankrolled it for the past number of years. It also airs on RTE One.
Woodburne was speaking on Australian television and said:
“It’s been a rollercaster, as you can imagine.
There’s a lot of information to process – I feel shocked and overwhelmed. We had a meeting today where producers gave us more information but not really more than what’s out there.
It’s sad, we’re all crying but we’re so determined to bring this show home as best we can.”
