Wintry weather is about to grip Ireland, bringing cold and unsettled conditions during the day and temperatures of -4C after dark.
Monday and Tuesday will remain relatively calm, with outbreaks of rain across the north and west and bright periods elsewhere.
Things are expected to take a turn for the worse on Wednesday though, as a band of rain pushes in from the Atlantic, raising the possibility of sleet and snow showers across high ground.
Heavy rain will spread eastwards throughout Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday night is forecast to be cold, with subzero temperatures and widespread frost formation.
Met Eireann predicts Thursday to be a frosty, windy day, with outbreaks of sleet and rain across the east, with clearer weather spreading eastwards as the day goes on.
