The organization says that upwards of 88,000 people took part in the march, which saw Dublin’s main thoroughfare flooded with protesters.
Brendan Ogle, one of the coordinators of the Right2Water campaign, said that the turnout was ‘truly historic’.
Campaigners say that yesterday’s protest was the biggest mass mobilisation of people this country has ever witnessed.
He added that the upcoming election would be a ‘game changer’ for the Coalition.
The protest passed off peacefully. Further demonstrations will take place in the near future.
