Gardaí in Co Meath begin investigation after juvenile GAA player has leg broken in two places after match




Gardaí in Co Meath have begun an investigation after a young GAA player was allegedly assaulted at a juvenille match on Saturday.

The victim of the alleged attack Conor Cribben-Hayes is currently recovering at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda after he was repeatedly stamped on during the game, which resulted in his leg being broken in two places.

Conor aged 17, from Kildalkey, Co Meath, was reportedly attacked during a scrap at the end of an U17 match between Clann na nGael and Kells club Gael Colmcille in Rathcairn, a Gaeltacht area.

It is believed the young man was quickly transported to Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda were he is currently still receiving treatment.
