Health officials have issued advice to the public following a sudden increase in the norovirus stomach bug.
The warnings come as there has been a reported rise in cases in both Ireland and the UK.
According to health officials, the public are being urged to wash their hands regularly in order to avoid catching the illness which can leave you feeling relatively unwell.
It is thought that the increase in cases comes as winter months leads to the bug being passed between person to person more regularly.
Experts say symptoms of the bug will be felt one to two days after catching the virus.
Symptoms include Suddenly feeling sick, stomach cramping, vomiting and
Watery diarrhoea.
It is believed that the bug will last for up to two or three days.
