The word inspirational is probably thrown around far too easily these days, but then once in a while it really is the only word that comes to mind.
Auschwitz survivor Dr Edith Eger gave an absolutely inspirational interview on last night’s Ray D’Arcy Show.
She spoke of how in this time in 1944 she was held captive in the Auschwitz concentration camp where tragically her parents both died.
She somehow managed to survive and create a great life for herself with her own family in New York, but possibly the most fascinating part is how philosophical she is and how she has maintained such grace through times that no one truly could comprehend.
The 91-yr-old said:
“I don’t have time to be a victim, I was victimised. It’s not who I am, it’s not my identity, it’s what was done to me”.
“We are all born with love and joy, we learn to hate”… “I dream we can empower the world by embracing our differences”
