Oprah Winfrey has ruled herself out of the 2020 U.S Presidential elections saying, “I don’t have the DNA for it”.
The American celebrity had hinted at a potential run for U.S President against the incumbent Donald Trump in 2020, who she had earlier in her career championed as a potential President but has now ruled out any possibility of such an effort.
Winfrey has become a prominent proponent of the “MeToo” movement which seeks to highlight the sexual abuse of women in Hollywood and everyday life.
However, she has been heavily criticised for her close links to disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein and been accused of acting as his procurer of young women by some celebrities, such as James Woods.
President Trump has previously stated that he would welcome a challenge by Oprah but had dismissed the likelihood of her running for President.
