Woman’s remains discovered in the River Shannon

There a reports circulating this evening that a body has been recovered from the River Shannon.

Reports say that the body is believed to be that of a woman, and was discovered by the Bunratty Search and Rescue Service, at approximately 4.30pm this afternoon. Gardai say the woman’s remains, were discovered near Bunratty, Co Clare, gardai also the woman’s remains have been removed from the scene and have been transferred to the morgue at University Hospital Limerick.

The woman’s remains have not yet been identified. Although it is believed that body is that of one of the women who were seen entering the water in Limerick a few weeks ago.
