It has been a record breaking year for Drogheda as official figures for this year’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann have been revealed.
Following on from a week of Irish song and dance in the Co Louth town, figures show that 700,000 visitors descended on the town.
According to Comhaltas boss, Dr. Labhrás Ă“ MurchĂş, figures for this year’s event were almost 50% higher than in 2018.
The record numbers are believed to have generated an estimated €40m for the local economy.
