The Government has scrapped its July 9 plans to propose ‘air bridges,’ dealing a hammer blow to the hospitality industry across Ireland.
Pubs, hotels, and other premises were hoping for a boost to their trade if the skies were open, but that’s not likely to happen now. It is understood that current arrangements will extend to July 20 at least.
Local tourism authorities are now raising the prospect of job losses to the tune of 200,000 people.
