A man has sadly passed away after falling ill whilst climbing Cnoc Bréanainn (Mount Brandon) in Co Kerry.
According to RTE News, the man aged in his 50s became ill whilst climbing the mountain on Thursday afternoon.
It is understood that the Valentia Coast Guard along with members from the Dingle Coast Guard and Kerry Mountain Rescue were called into the scene at approximately 1:30pm.
However despite the best efforts of rescue teams the man sadly passed away a short time later.
