Irish families taking in Ukrainian refugees in any space available will start receiving their €400 from next week, it has emerged today.
The Government has been asking ordinary families across Ireland to open their homes, second homes, sheds, large cupboards, granny flats, and any other conceivable living space to refugees. Good samaritans will be rewarded with eight 50e notes per month for the deed.
Meanwhile, most of those in Government have not confirmed they will take anyone in their own homes.
