81-yr-old Katherine Bryne (pictured above) attended a light-hearted protest which was said to be “humourous but serious” was held in Dublin’s O’Connell St yesterday afternoon.
Some 4,000 protesters walked up and down the St voicing their anger and objections to the new tax.
Ann Farrelly told TheLiberal.ie “It was peaceful and successful, people were in good humour”.
But unfortunately at the end of the protest, 11 people has to be arrested as they held an ‘unofficial sit-down’ and gardai charged all 11 with public disorder, 9 of whom appeared in court last night.
Other protesters however, went about the protest with various banners and signs exclaiming why they think water charges are unfair, unjust and immoral.
