The Dublin School of English closed its doors for the last time yesterday.
The institution, which was located on Harcourt St. and was one of first English schools to be established in Ireland, released a statement saying: “Years of mismanagement of the EFL industry in Ireland by the Department of Education and INIS have led to an ongoing crisis in the industry and created an environment within which operating a legitimate EFL school is an extreme challenge.”
It is understood that a private investor had been sought, but to no avail.
Students showed up for class yesterday, only to find the place closed. They will now be assigned to partner institutions for the remainder of their courses.
