A moo-ving rescue tale from County Meath.

A cow and her calf have been brought safely home in a great display by Meath River Rescue.

Living up to her name, Rambling Rose disappeared two months ago. She was spotted on an island barely 15 metres wide in Lough Breakey, County Meath.

When rescue workers arrived, they discovered that Rose has given birth to her calf, who has been named Sunday. After that, it was a matter of getting Sunday onto a dinghy and bringing her the 200 yards to the shore.

Rose was helped to swim ashore where she was reunited with Sunday and Sean Kelleher, the farmer who had long since given up hope of finding her.
