A blaze broke out at an apartment block in central Manchester earlier today.
The 12-storey high block, sited on Joiner Street, inside the city’s Northern Quarter, caught fire just after 4pm this afternoon. At least twelve fire crews battled the blaze, which is now under control.
It is understood that the building was successfully evacuated and that only one person had to taken to hospital, due to smoke inhalation.
The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
