Two brothers in Texas slaughtered four members of their immediate family before killing themselves after binging on the comedy TV series “The Office” and becoming enraged at the plot and character development.
In a 12-page suicide note Farhan Towhid (19) explained that he and his 21-year-old brother, Tanvir Towhid, were united in manic depression and all-day TV watching sessions the New York Post reported.
“The first and most important show we watched was ‘The Office’,” Farhan wrote in the note that started, “Hey everyone, I killed myself and my family.”
In the note the brothers explained how they were upset at the series which they claimed declined in quality as time went on and decided to murder their family, including their parents, sister and grandmother.
The Bangladeshi brothers purchased two firearms and on Easter Sunday they enacted their plan murdering their family before they both shot and killed themselves.
