Black Lives Matter protestors attack police and press in London with fears of more violence at further protests this weekend

Shortly after London Metropolitan police officers kneeled in submission to Black Lives Matter protestors, they were viciously attacked by thugs rallying near Downing Street.

Police bore the first brunt of attack but the rioters quickly turned their attention to the press with one Australian news team being forced to abandon their live broadcast and some equipment after the protestors attacked them before chasing them down a tunnel near the Houses of Parliament.

One man was arrested after Australian correspondent Sophie Walsh was assaulted while also giving a live broadcast near the scene of the protests. The reporter can be heard screaming as images of the riots were being shown and then fighting back tears as she explains what had just happened to her.

The man was later caught by police and found to be holding a screwdriver. He had shouted “Allahu Akbar” an Arabic phrase meaning “Allah is Great” when he punched the correspondent in the stomach.

Clashes between police and rioting Black Lives Matter protestors continued into the earlier hours and with further protests planned this weekend it is feared that more violence is yet to come to the streets of London.
