According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian soldiers have established “combat control” over regions where Russian troops had previously penetrated the northeastern Kharkiv region earlier this month, reports Breaking News.
In his Friday night video address, the President stated, “Our soldiers have now managed to take combat control of the border area where the Russian occupiers entered.”
It seemed that Mr. Zelensky’s remarks disagreed with those of Russian officials, reports Breaking News.
Three miles inside the border, in the town of Vovchansk, Russian soldiers now possess more than half of the town, according to member of the lower house of parliament Viktor Vodolatskiy, as reported by Russian state news agency Tass.
Since Russia began an operation in the Kharkiv area on May 10, Vovchansk has been a hotbed of conflict, reports Breaking News.
