Authorities in France have sadly confirmed that five people have been killed following a helicopter crash in the French Alps.
It is understood that the five people who were on board a rescue helicopter were killed when the aircraft crashed whilst on a training mission in Savoie.
The news of the crew’s deaths was confirmed by French President Emmanuel Macron.
It is believed that the pilot along with another pilot were killed in the crash which occurred at an altitude of 1800 metres.
Authorities say two winch operators and two rescue workers have also been killed in the crash, whilst a sixth person was seriously injured in the crash.
