Gardai are advising people to be extremely vigilant over the coming days as the St Patrick’s Day festival begins.
People are prone to drink a lot and be early quite early where large crowds will be congregating.
Gardai say that people should be careful while out and about and to avoid any altercations should they arise. They’re advised to walk away and call gardai should anything start that they don’t want to be involved in.
Large crowds are expected in city and town centres around the country from this morning onwards.
