A two-year-old girl has sadly died after falling into a crocodile enclosure whilst playing at her family home in Cambodia.
According to The Daily Mail newspaper, the young was horrifyingly eaten alive after she made her way into the enclosure which was located at the back of her home in Siem Reap.
It is believed that the girl had gotten into the enclosure after making her way through a gap in the 10ft fence.
Authorities investigating the incident say the little girl’s mother had lost sight of her daughter as she was caring for her newborn baby at the time of the incident which occurred on Sunday morning.
Despite a frantic search from her father, the little girl’s skull was found on the concrete base of the enclosure a short time later.
Police say the incident is being treated as tragic incident and have urged others who have crocodile farms to implement proper safety measures.
The practice of crocodile farming is thought to be quite common in the region as many farmers breed the reptiles for their meat and leather.
