The CEO of the Health Service Executive said that a one metre social distance would give healthcare more capacity, but would follow the advice of the national public health emergency response team.
Paul Reid said the NPHET indicates that a social distance of two metres is recommended, and that’s exactly what HSE plans to do with the new service framework.
He said this would affect capacity in emergency rooms, outpatient clinics and waiting rooms, for example.
