Lidl employees have been posting on social media claiming that their employer is very decent with its “living wage” alongside other benefits of working in the supermarket chain.
On Wednesday, a group recommended increasing the minimum wage to a €12.90 ‘living wage.’
According to Living Wage, this amount would provide workers with a ‘minimum standard of living.’
The legal minimum wage in Ireland currently stands at €10.20 an hour. However, supermarket chain Lidl were quick to announce on social media that they are actually the “first supermarket in Ireland” to give put their employees on the new minimum hourly rate.
Their Facebook post was widely liked and shared with people saying that Lidl is their favourite supermarket and that this has just re-enforced their views.
