Met Eireann has warned that a mass of freezing air is on its way to Ireland, with temperatures set to plunge to -4C over the coming Bank Holiday weekend.
There will also be a risk of freezing rain and hail as winter begins to bite.
The weather will remain relatively mild up to Thursday, with temperatures reaching 14C in places. However, things will take a turn for the worse towards Thursday evening.
The outlook is for a cold and miserable October Bank Holiday weekend, weather wise at least.
