USA Powerlifting has banned trans-“women” from competing as women

In what is being hailed as a victory for common sense and ‘reality’ the USA Powerlifting Team has banned all men from competing as women, effectively banning trans-women.

Biological men can still compete on the men’s team however, even if they self-identify as women, so long as they meet the required qualifications.

This follows the rejection of trans-woman JayCee Cooper, who recently won a state championship in Minnesota but whose application to join a USA Powerlifting event was denied last December.

In an email to Cooper, USAPL Therapeutic Use Exemptions Committee Chair Kristopher Hunt wrote

“Male-to-female transgenders are not allowed to compete as females in our static strength sports as it is a direct competitive advantage,”

Hunt went on to clarify his decision after trans activists protested the decision saying

“Transgender male to female individuals having gone through male puberty confer an unfair competitive advantage over non-transgender females due to increased bone density and muscle mass from pubertal exposure to testosterone.”

Now the organisation has made this decision official policy and banned all Trans women from competing as actual women.
