Gardaí in Galway have begun an investigation after a substantial amount of damage was caused to a mosque in the city.
It is understood that the investigation comes after windows were smashed and substantial damage was caused to offices and equipment inside the building on the Monavea Road.
Gardai say the incident is believed to have occurred between the hours of 10pm and 4am on Sunday night/Monday morning.
It is also believed that security footage was taken from the scene and computer equipment at the Mosque was badly damaged.
Gardai say they are currently investigating the incident and as of yet no arrests have been made.
