Be on your guard: TV Licence inspectors are upping their rounds to additional 8,000 calls a week

Who likes TV licence inspectors? The answer is… very, very few people, especially now that the government are considering taxing laptops and tablets being used for streaming purposes.

Nevertheless, they are upping their inspections so you better be on your guard.

They’ve allegedly acquired a database of people they believe don’t have a licence for the TV and thus have increased their checks by some 20% to an additional 8,000 per week.

The figures have been released from a new ad airing on RTE at the moment where they say they’re going to go after private residential and business properties. It’s understood that most calls will be made in the evening time.

Better off just not answering the door, but you didn’t hear me saying that 😉
