In a traumatic affair, a heroic pharmacist stepped up to the plate and managed to save the life of a 17-yr-old girl who need two adrenaline injections to revive her from an anaphylactic shock, possibly from a chocolate drink she had consumed earlier today.

The girl suddenly felt awful and she rang her father who told her to get to a pharmacy immediately.

Sarah Chambers, who’s a pharmacist at Hickey’s Chemist halfway up Grafton St, jumped into action when the girl presented herself with puffed cheeks and swollen tongue.

The hero wasted no time in grabbing the life-saving pen when she quickly realised that the girl, who previously suffered from a similar reaction aged 4, was in an extremely serious condition.

She administered the treatment and thankfully the girl started to come back to herself. She was transported to St Jame’s Hospital and was subsequently discharged after being checked out.
