Leadership in the Irish Army had to invent an imaginary terrorist group for a recent training session for their elite snipers to stalk.

The training session took place at Dublin Port as part of an eight week course where snipers had to hide for four days in disused building whilst they monitored an imaginary enemy, an Irish Nationalist terrorist group they called “Hibernian Liberation Front” in a move to stop gun smuggling into Ireland according to the Irish Mirror.

The Irish Army snipers were given orders to “take out”the “terrorists” landing their haul of weapons from a fast moving RHIB boat on an isolated jetty at the port.

Some on social media are asking serious questions of the Irish Army leadership who are training their soldiers to target and “take out” Irish Nationalists. Others are asking why real terrorist organisations like Islamic State / ISIS were not used as this would be a more realistic training exercise for Irish soldiers.
