Enda Kenny’s position as Taoiseach is looking increasingly untenable, as he can’t seem to find any help around the country for his desperate bid to remain in power.
Neither is Micheal Martin getting any luck, as most Independents will refuse to support either leader, likely abstaining from a crucial vote on Thursday.
Independent TDs hold the key to form a government, and they are likely to take the upper hand to gain as much political currency as possible.
Meanwhile, some senior figures inside Fianna Fáil seem to be warming up to the idea of supporting a Fine Gael government, as long as Enda Kenny is not at the helm.
