If you ever felt like saying no to housework, think again, as 40-year-old Romanian man Ionel Popa found himself stabbed in his private region by an enraged, hard-working, knife-wielding wife.
The incident took place in the quaint and idyllic Romanian township of Dragomiresti, near the Ukrainian border. Earlier reports suggested that the woman went beserk when her hapless husband failed to buy her flowers for International Women’s Day, but later transpired that the straw that broke the camel’s back was Mr. Popa’s refusal to help his wife with some digging work in the garden.
Apparently, a row ensued and Mr. Popa reportedly sealed his fate when he said he did not want to dig because he was a man.
After the stabbing took place, Mr. Popa’s wife referred to it as a ‘misfortune’, and put forward that she tried to alleviate her husband’s excruciating pain with a common household bandage, but he chose to throw her out of the house instead while trying to stifle the bleeding himself.
Mr. Popa’s currently ‘doing well’ in hospital. The digging work at the couple’s property remains undone, according to local media.
