Gardai in Tralee, Co Kerry are investigating the death of Belarus native, Dmitry Hrynkevich after he was brutally attacked in the town last week.
The 24 year old stood at 7’6″ tall and was described as being gentle and soft-spoken, hating that his height made him the centre of attention.
He had been a victim of bullying all his life due to his height.
Mr Hrynkevich was attacked last Wednesday evening in the Killeen Wood estate in Tralee.
He was then abandoned, left unconscious with horrific head injuries.
He was taken to Kerry General Hospital where he was placed on life support. Mr Hrynkevich died in the early hours of Saturday morning surrounded by his family.
Gardai say that a party was taking place in a house in the Killeen Woods estate 0n the night in question and are urging anyone who attended the party to contact them with information.
Two men, in their late 20s and early 30s, were initially arrested by gardaí and questioned at Tralee Garda Station but have since been released without charge.
