Gardai investigation launched as pro choice activist gets physical with pro life campaigner who was tying to put up a Vote No poster in Galway

There has been shock and condemnation online today after the below video went viral showing a pro choice activist initially verbally attacking and then physically attacking a pro life campaigner who was trying to erect a pro life poster in Galway city centre.

It’s understood that the pro life campaigner is Sean Ganley, from Galway and a brother of well known businessman Declan Ganley.

Sean Ganley is said to have received some injuries from the assault but is doing ok today. His brother, Declan, posted the video on Twitter today and announced that a gardai investigation is underway.

Ganley posted that “man in the beard that told my brother to “F#%£ your mother” before pushing him and his ladder over, is an American, from the Salt Lake City area. He seems to currently be based in Galway.”

He went on to say that the man “verbally and physically attacked my brother and the gardai are on it”.

Footage of the video is below – please be aware that there’s graphic footage and strong language.
